Every project we undertake is an opportunity to work with other organizations. Our approach is practical, as we connect the scientific community with industry.
We conduct workshops, conferences, training programs, and outreach activities. All of our endeavors reflect our focus on a pragmatic approach bridging the science world with industry.
December 2021 – present
Polish optics and photonics newsletter, which covers all news from the present time for the entire country. It is published uninterruptedly since 2021 and became an important means of communication in the field.
June 2025 – currently
A series of workshops and lectures on advanced technologies for optometrists. Workshops and lectures on accommodation, refractive surgery, and AI in optometry.
18 January – 17 October 2026
Our workshop series is holding its second edition for learning about optical resonators for students and researchers. Applications are being accepted and we have scholarships available for interested individuals.
2025
Our first workshop on optical resonators was successfully held with scholarship recipients. Due to its specialized nature, this type of workshop has generated significant interest.
2025
Ultrafast Optics: Lecture Series for Public Audience. A series of lectures about Ultrafast Optics that is meant to be understood by junior scientists and students.
2024
Free lectures on the physics of Bose-Einstein condensates, an interesting phase of matter in between the fields of optics and quantum physics. Made the cutting edge of science more understandable for everyone.
2023
Lecture series on Terahertz Radiation dealing with the generation, detection, and applications. The goal of popularizing optics-related topics among the students and general public was further carried out.
August 2023 – July 2025
The Candela Foundation as an Associated Organization took part in a project which aimed at developing deep technologies in the Baltic Sea Region. The emphasis was on the connection between science and industry.
Ongoing
A Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Doctoral Network in which the Candela Foundation is a partner organization, helping to train the next generation of researchers in molecular photonics.
The Open Lectures initiative presents advanced concepts related to optics and photonics to students and researchers throughout Poland at no cost whatsoever.
Latest addition to our ultrafast optics series, which includes femtosecond lasers, attosecond phenomena, and their application in spectroscopy and materials processing.
The physics behind Bose–Einstein condensates—a fascinating state of matter characterized by extremely low temperatures. It is used in precision measurements and quantum simulations.
Discusses the generation, detection, and uses of terahertz waves, which hold huge promise for imaging, spectroscopy, and communications applications.
Each year, we keep adding new lectures into our “Open Lectures” series, and we strive to bring the latest optics and photonics topics to everyone.
One of the most important aspects of our mission is providing financial support to young researchers and students. Through our scholarship program, we help cover the costs of conference and workshop fees that would otherwise be beyond their reach.
Through our funding approach, any donation received will automatically be channeled to scholarships unless otherwise instructed by the donor. Revenue from businesses pays for our operational costs, creating a distinct division between the two areas.
We have also forged collaborations with other organizations such as the Polish Platform for Technology Transfer (PPTF) and are active in global networks including the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions, which enhances our effectiveness far more than we can do on our own.
Latest achievements and events from the Candela Foundation.
Applications are now being accepted for the 2026 workshop, and scholarships are available for eligible candidates.
We represented the optics and photonics community at the highly regarded Economic Forum in Krynica.
A bilingual dictionary encompassing optical and photonic terms in both English and Polish languages.
We are proud to announce the scholarship award recipients for the first edition of the “Resonators” workshop.
